Common Periwinkle (Whelk)

Common Perwinkle in Scotland

This is a Common Periwinkle or Whelk. They are basically sea snails! I took this photo through the water. Sadly in parts of the UK they are eaten, not by me though!

Thanks to David for spotting my typo/bad spelling!

  9. I am pretty sure that your perwinkle should be periwinkle, Ananka. When I was last in the UK I was urged to try them. Wonderful opportunity though it might have been, I declined!
