A few weeks ago I was picking my daughter up from school and she said she had a surprise for me in her lunch bag. I opened it and saw this little caterpillar. She said she had "saved it" and she had made a little bed for it. I thought this was very cute but told her that she shouldn't handle caterpillars as some can cause us rashes and reactions. She said she didn't and used the leaves. When I got home from school, I put it in my garden. From what I can tell it is a moth caterpillar but not sure which sort.
She is just like you!

DeleteThough the caterpillar may appear slimy, it possesses the full potential to transform into a beautiful butterfly.

DeleteOur Darling Ailith is a little caterpillar rescuer.
ReplyDeleteShe certainly is Irina, thanks :-D
DeleteIt would have been great to identify it, Ananka. Many caterpillars are host plant specific and if you placed it on a plant that does not constitute food it will simply starve to death, or be picked off by birds to feed their own young. The sentiments and actions of your daughter are heartwarming, though.
ReplyDeleteGood to know. Yes it is heartwarming. I am glad for her :-D
DeleteYour daughter has someone to look like...

DeleteI think she takes after her mum :)
