More Frogs And Toads From March

These are the last photos I have from March. 

 

They were very busy!! I was at the pond last week and sadly there wasn't a lot of tadpoles. I remember a few years ago seeing lots, but sadly not this year. The little baby frogs should be appearing soon!

More Toads And Frogs

 

Some more froggy toady photos from March when they were out spawning. I really love their little faces. The last 2 needed help getting to the pond, so I offered them a free lift!!

Saving A Toad

 

During spawning season, a few weeks ago, I was up at the pond most days. I went for a walk behind the pond and found this little fellow on the path in the sun. So I decided to take him over to the pond. He enjoyed the walk on my hand and I put him into the water. He was happy to be there. 

They Are Back

 

The frogs and toads are back for spawning at the pond! I was so very happy to see them! These 3 photos are of the same toad. I sat on the ground and was talking to him! I really wanted to get a close-up of his eyes. After I got my photos he hopped off into the long grass. Ever since I was a kid, I have been obsessed with frogs and toads, I think they are amazing and wonderful.

Ever since I was little I have been obsessed with frogs and toads. I think they are amazing little creatures. I hadn't seen any for a long time until I started to visit the pond about 4 years ago. They go to the pond to spawn and then leave. You need to catch them at the right time. This is a fellow I made friends with a few years ago.

So these are the last of the photos from the 2 weeks of spawning. 

Spawning

Last week when I visited the pond, the frogs and toads were at it! I am hoping for lots of babies this year, as last year was bad and there weren't a lot. 

These were all taken last week. Frogspawn is a clump as in the first photo and Toad Spawn is usually in a line as seen in the second photo under the little fellow's chin!
