Feeding A Female Mallard

 

This is from last year when we went to Alton Towers. My daughter was trying to feed this female mallard. The ducks at Alton Towers are used to the humans!

Ready To Jump

 

This Ringed Teal was ready to jump back into the water, though there is something he isn't sure about. Maybe waiting for me to take the photo?

Lots Of Ducks!

 

This is an old one from the archives 2021! Lots of Mallard ducks. That summer I went up most days to feed them and they grew to trust me and knew I would feed them! I was rewarded with good photos. 

A Shy Duck

 

This Male Mallard was at the canal. He was quite shy but wanted some seeds.

A Few Geese And A Mallard

 

Two Canada Geese and a Male Mallard are here. The goose at the front it giving me that "I want food stare"! I gave them seeds and more Mallards appeared so this guy wasn't lonely!

Happy Ducks

 

This is an older photo. Feeding the ducks at the pond. I really enjoyed those day and really miss them. Hoping I get to see them sooner rather than later.

Icy Mallard

 

This ia a male mallard, you can tell from the grey and green. The girls are brown. This was taken round about this time last year. He is standing on a frozen bit of the pond! That is what I am gonna miss most about my injury, not getting out anytime soon and seeing nature. Once I am able to walk, I might hobble into my garden and see what I can find, so at least I will be posting current photos. Let's hope I can weight bear soon.

This is a female mallard duck. The females are brown. She was looking very happy!

Spotted these 2 baby ducks when I was walking along the canal recently. They are so cute.

Walking On Water

 

This duck appears to be standing on the water but there is a branch under her that she is standing on!

Don't Always Follow The Leader

 

The 2 chaps behind were following this guy and a short time later they decided to change it a little.

And decided to be all equals! These are all male Mallard ducks.

Bring Food And They Shall Come

 

I took this the other day when I was out walking around a Loch. I threw the swan food into the Loch and they all came! It was a wonderful experience.

These girls were gathering at the pond, so I decided to give them some seeds. 2 look like they are dancing almost!

This male mallard caught me looking at him! I took a photo then he got back to doing what he was doing.

If these Ducks and Coots can live in harmony surely we can too! 

This relates to my post made on 25th Feb HERE where the Coot was gatecrashing the Ducky Party. Now he has brought his whole family this time. Baby Coots are so very cute I think. 

Soaking Up The Sun

 

Mr Mallard is relaxing in the sun. This photo is from a few summers ago. I am sure I'll see plenty Mallards this year at the pond.
