Our Christmas Tree

 

As you all know I have 3 cats and a young daughter aged 4. So cats, kids and Christmas Trees don't really go well do they! So a few years ago, we decided to get a cat/kid proof tree and this is it. It took a while to get used to it, now I love it. I always say there is more room at the bottom for extra gifts haha! The reindeer is a new addition to the family, we got him a few weeks ago! I am not a fan of tinsel or lights.

So is everyone in the festive mood yet? I cannot say I am :-| I have been listening to a lot of Christmas music trying to get into it and watching a lot of those new Christmas films on Netflix too. I highly recommend Love Hard (2021), it really enjoyed that one.

Roots

A Robin

 

This is my good friend Robbie. Robbie the Robin! He is always the first to appear when I am feeding the birds. He is a very friendly little fellow! This was taken on 25th Oct.

So I haven't been about for a few days. My daughter has been really ill and we thought she might have Strep A, which is going around at the moment over here. We finally got an appointment at out of hours care and she has a bacterial infection. They gave her antibiotics and she has been a lot better today, thankfully. The temperature tonight is sitting around minus 8! Very cold!

I am not exactly sure what these 2 snails are up to! I took these on 10th May this year.

A Wasp

 

I know a lot of people don't like wasps here in Scotland but I do. This wasp spent the whole summer on this piece of wood, which is a craving of animals and wildlife. I walked passed almost everyday and it was there! I have been stung by both a bee and wasp and I am not allergic to either. On both occasions it wasn't either the bee or wasp's fault! Wasps play an important part in nature. This photo was taken 26th April this year.

I have lots of photos to transfer so will do that in the next few days and start posting them. I hope you are all well and happy December!

My Favourite Crow

 

This has to be my all time favourite photo of a crow so far. I took this on 5th May this year. I just love his face. I was feeding him and his buddies regularly during the summer at the pond. I was very fond of him, he was more outgoing than his buddies.

Got out yesterday and today. Got some good photos that I will need to tranfer onto the PC.

A Springy Tree

I have often wondered how this spring got into this tree? Maybe it grew there haha! 

Hope everyone is well and you are all have being having a good November. Weather has been really bad here in Scotland, always raining. So haven't really had much chance to get out walking. Shorter days don't help either! And started another job, so have 2 part-times jobs! No time for anything these days.

A Happy Snail

 

I spotted this snail on the branch! It looked happy. I do really like the patterns on snails. Took this one on 6th May this year.

Jackdaw

 

Isn't this a beautiful bird? I really like Jackdaws, they are part of the crow family. I just love the second photo so much. His face is amazing :-D

Huge Mushroom

 

Isn't this mushroom lovely and it is huge! I have my hand there for scale haha! I think it is a Birch Polypore, does anyone know? I am still a novice when it comes to mushrooms! Taken 12 October.

Lovely Trees By The Canal

 

I took this on 13th October. It was a lovely day and a good view of the trees along the canal. I like to walk along the canal, so many interesting things to see.

A Shy Squirrel

 

I spotted this squirrel hiding in the trees. He was very shy. I only see grey squirrels these days, never red anymore. I think the last red one I saw was in the mid 1990s!

Photos From My Walk Yesterday - 18th Oct 2022

 

These are all photos from my walk yesterday! It was a good walk. My friend and I went into the forest and explored all around. We found so many interesting things. AND it was a decent day, sunny and no rain! 

I was waiting for my delivery of cat food to arrive today. It arrived early afternoon, so managed out for a short walk which was good.

Ghost Mushroom

Purple Bee

 

This bee was very happy on this purple flower. I like how vivd the yellow on the bee is! This was taken on 31st August.

First post in a few days. was exhasuted with work over the weekend. Has anyone noticed that comments from the past are jumping into the spam folder? I noticed some on all 3 blogs from end of September and one tonight from early October! Some are my own replies and other Bloggers. I always check the spam comments when I first log into Blogger these days!

Shaggy Inkcap

 

These 2 photos are the same mushroom, but at different stages! It is called a Shaggy Inkcap and from what I have read, it is edible! I only took photos and left it be haha!

Been out 4 days in a row and have to say the prolapse is a lot better - not giving me any pain or issues like before when I was rested after the eye op! So all good. Tomorrow they say rain, I really am hoping to get out. We will see!

Dock Beetles

 

Aren't these beetles lovely. I do love anything iridescent, so as you can imagine, I am a fan of these little fellows! This was taken on 12th May.

Busy Flower

 

Well isn't this a busy little flower! This was taken on 5th September.

Got out again today and another 10 miles! It did rain and I got wet haha. My plan is to get out the rest of the week too and aiming for 10 miles each day. I feel fit enough and my eye is so much better. I honestly think missing the walking had a major negative impact on the prolapse. 

RIP Angela Lansbury who sadly passed away today. Loved her in Murder, She Wrote.

I Hope He Did

So today was a good day! I got out and did 10 miles and got lots of photos. I need to transfer them from the phone to the laptop. It was sunny but chilly. The first day in over a week it wasn't raining! I am hoping it will be dry tomorrow. I felt so much better getting out too. Hope you are all well and have a good week planned.

Spider's Webs

I thought these webs were pretty cool. I saw them when I was walking along the canal. I always love seeing webs :-D Spiders are cool, in my eyes lol! This was taken on 1st September.

A Woodlouse On My Arm

 

This little fellow was in the bathroom and I worried the cats might get to him, so decided to put him out in the garden. By the time I walked to the back door to open it, he had crawled up my arm!! So I decided to get a photo....as you do ;-) This was taken on 7th September. Interesting fact - here in Scotland we often call Woodlice: Slaters.

So in other news, I managed to get out for a walk! I was so happy. Didn't over do it. It will probably take me a few weeks to get back into the swing of things.

So back in time we go! A year and half in fact! The little green fellow who is starring in a few of the photos is Trevor. He is a turtle and we adopted him from London Zoo. I named him after a famous British actor called Trevor Eve!

A Deer Family

 

I spotted these 3 deer when I wandered off the path into the woods. Such a lovely family. These were all taken on 26th April.

Treecreeper

 

This a photo of a bird called a Treecreeper! I was lucky enough to get this shot. One of the walkers I used to meet said they kinda look like a little mouse, I can see what he was on about haha! This was taken on 25th March this year.

Tree Pumpkin

 

I was out a walk at the start of the month and noticed this! Is it just me or does that look like a pumpkin on the tree? Now to be fair, I have had Hallowe'en in my mind since July haha! These were taken on 3rd September.

Vets Open Day

 

The Vets I take my cats to had their yearly Open Day a few weeks ago. I have been with that Vets since 2010! I always enjoy these event as there are plenty animals and stalls and fun games for the kids. I got to meet a few snakes and my daughter got to hold one too, she wasn't scared unlike her dad haha!!! These were all taken on 3rd September.
