Caturday: Not Doing Too Good

Thanks for all your lovely comments on the last 2 posts.

I haven't been doing too good. I have been trying to get on with things but it still hurts. The house is so quiet without him despite having 5 other cats and a 7 year old daughter! Jethro was so chatty he got the nickname Mr Shouty! My other cats seem so silent compared to him.

I have been going round them all and giving them cuddles. Abby has been sitting with me a lot and at night Cali comes to visit me and often sleeps at my back. Stitch will sometimes sleep at my legs too. Something Jethro used to do.

I found myself looking for him a few days ago. And then realised and broke down. I am still waiting for his ashes. I requested a pendant too, which I'll show you when I get. It is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life.

I'd like to thank Ann from https://zoolatry.blogspot.com/. She made this up for me.

And Ingrid from Meezer's Mews & Terrieristical Woofs made this up for me too.

Thank you so much everyone <3

Memories Of Jethro - First Few Months

Thanks to everyone for your nice and kind comments regarding Jethro. I have decided to do a Memories of Jethro this week and might post a photo of him every Monday or Tuesday. I will never forget him.

This photo was taken the first day I had him. He was 12 weeks old in this.

This was his favourite toy Snakey. Poor Snakey didn't last long! I had to replace it several times!

This is him with Chiana. Chiana was so tiny!

Jethro's Potatoes! We used to grow potatoes and kept them in this box. Jethro decided to claim them as his!

He even took Snakey to his food! This was a common thing when he was young. Snakey went everywhere with him.

Goodbye Jethro

Not a post I wanted to make. Jethro passed away at 3.30pm today. I had got back from work and he was shouting and lying on the floor. I had to get my daughter early from school and took him to the vets straight away. They said it didn't look good and took him for test. They then came back and told me the worst. I got to spend a little time with him before he passed. He was a Bengal and the vets said that he did really well making it to 16. He had celebrated his birthday on Friday there which I posted about.

I have never lost a pet before and the pain I am feeling right now is the same pain I felt when I lost my dad all those years ago. I loved Jethro with all my heart.

I got Jethro when he was 12 weeks old. I remember that day so vividly back in 2010 as he was my first ever cat. I got Abby and Chiana a few hours later. I actually started blogging back in 2011 but it was just about Nail Polish. Jethro would often photobomb the shoots so he featured a few times on that blog as I liked the photos.

I will see how I am feeling in the next few days and might post some photos from the archives. 16 years worth of the boy! The photo is one of the last I took on his birthday.

Rest in Peace my sweet boy, I will miss you forever <3

Caturday: Cleo Stole The Sleigh

Black cat in Scotland

Jethro thanks you all for his birthday wishes yesterday.

This is Cleo. She stole the Sleigh I bought for one of my daughter's teddy bears. I think Cleo looks good it it!

Happy Birthday Jethro

It's Jethro's Birthday today. He turned 16 today. Here are a few photos of his celebration.

This is the card my daughter made for him. He seemed to like it. Certainly distracted him from the treats haha!

Slipper Flower

Slipper Flower in Scotland

This is one from the garden centre near us. It's Calceolaria integrifolia, also know as Slipper Flower or Lady's Purse. It caught my eye because it was vivid orange.

Signs 10th June 2026

Linking to Tom's Signs: https://backroadstraveller.blogspot.com/ .

Sign from Glasgow Science Centre in Scotland

It reads: "Follow the evidence wherever it leads, and question everything." Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Another from the Glasgow Science Centre. I must admit, I question everything and read up on everything. Probably a good thing these days with all the "fake news".

Nice But Deadly

Another one from our Amazonia visit.

This little frog looks serious I think. It's a Blue Poison Dart Frog.

This is a lovely flower. Does anyone know what it is? Google says either a small tulip or a small primrose.

This is from last year. It's a red damselfly. I've not been out walking yet to see them. I had to change my job and now work a few hours during the day on weekdays.

A Moth On Monday

Least Carpet Moth in Scotland

This is a Least Carpet Moth! It really is a beauty, I think. People aren't as keen on moths as they are butterflies and I don't understand! Moths are awesome as well.
