It reads: "Follow the evidence wherever it leads, and question everything." Neil deGrasse Tyson.
Another from the Glasgow Science Centre. I must admit, I question everything and read up on everything. Probably a good thing these days with all the "fake news".

Ya gotta make sure to get the facts right...only then pass judgement if needed...
ReplyDeleteThat's so true :-D
DeleteNot a fan of Neil deGrasse Tyson. Several women have accused him of sexual misconduct. I'm surprised they haven't yet taken this quote from him down in Glasgow Science Centre.
ReplyDeleteI think if they were true then of course they would remove this sign. A lot of people are accused of things they didn't do and named and shamed yet other powerful people get away with such bad things :-(
DeleteThere is no reason to think that the women who accused him would do so "only for money" or something like that. Especially when he's so powerful already because he's got huge presence in media, and he has a large social capital, large influence. We live in patriarchy. Male-dominated society. I'm sorry but simply questioning those women's accusations is participating in a system that makes women susceptible to this violence. By the way, when deGrasse talked about it in one interview, he sounded very creepy. I don't even want to replicate what he was saying... no, I have no reason to trust this guy. Science Centres and Museums should be more wary.
DeleteYou have to check everything to make sure it's real.
