Almost Yin Yang

Common House Flies on Oxeye Daisy in Scotland

Following on from yesterday's post, these 2 Common House Flies (Musca domestica) are almost making the Yin Yang symbol. They are on an Oxeye Daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare) which is a larger form of the Daisy. There is a little insect at the bottom left trying to get in on the act!

  3. I find flies very annoying when they get in to the house and buzz around.

  5. What a great observation — the flies forming a near Yin Yang shape on the Oxeye Daisy is such a striking image, and I love that a tiny insect was trying to join in too!

  8. Too bad one of the flies isn't white. Then it would really be yin and yang.

  9. Yes Ananka, that's how they seem to form the sign of Yin and Yang!
As long as there are insects, nature is reborn, even if they are annoying!!

  13. The question is not whether insects are annoying. Without them life as we know it will cease, so learn to love them folks.
