The frogs and toads are back for spawning at the pond! I was so very happy to see them! These 3 photos are of the same toad. I sat on the ground and was talking to him! I really wanted to get a close-up of his eyes. After I got my photos he hopped off into the long grass. Ever since I was a kid, I have been obsessed with frogs and toads, I think they are amazing and wonderful.
Great shots of this good looking fellow.

DeleteThey are wonderful creatures and need clean ponds to spawn. We have not made life easy for them. I have a picture of a toad sitting on a mushroom - the original toadstool!
ReplyDeleteNo we certainly haven't. But still they survive, thankfully. That sounds like an amazing photo, have you posted it on your blog?
DeleteI have. I posted it when it happened several years ago.

Thanks Jan :-D
DeleteWow! He/she looks like they've been around for decades. We used to see a lot of toads in our area, but they are sadly lacking now. It makes me sad. It must have to do with all the gunk everyone sprays on their lawns. I'd rather have toads than perfect grass.
ReplyDeleteI agree, toads are more important than perfect grass. Sadly everything is in decline due to us :-(
DeleteGreat photos of this toad! Love his eyes.
ReplyDeleteHis eyes are amazing. Thanks Ivana :-D
