This is a very famous scene in Glasgow, a statue with a traffic cone on the guy's head! Read here about it: Equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington. I remember seeing it in the early 1990s! The building behind the statue is The Gallery Of Modern Art which I have been to several times. It's free as well! Most Museums in Scotland are free, which is good I think. Over the years the colour of the cone usually changes and sometimes the horse has one too, as can be seen in the Gallery link!
Is the statue made with stone or metal?
ReplyDeleteMetal and stone at the bottom! :-D
DeleteEse cono que lleva en la cabeza pone la nota de color en esa gran estatua.
ReplyDeleteFeliz fin de semana.

💋Kisses💋
Haha it does actually. Thanks :-D
DeleteHi Ananka,
ReplyDeleteI was interested in your post about historic information of the duke of Wellington's equestrian statue. This is a monument I didn't know. I hope I will visit it as soon as I go to Glasgow.
Sorry to hear that important Glasgow's landmark may be damaged by vandals.
Have a nice weeend ☀
It sometimes gets painted they usually sort it though. You really need to come to Glasgow Giorgio, I'll show you around :-D
DeleteGiorgio (above) is overly sensitive. It's clear that no damage is done. The traffic cones are easily removed-- and they make people seek the statue out--- which also improves the museum's attendance. If vandals damaged or painted the statue, I'd be the first to advocate serious punitive action!
ReplyDeleteSometimes they spray paint on it and it usually fixed pretty quickly. It is an icon of Glasgow haha! :-D
DeleteThat is so amusing! For such a classical looking museum ... the "cone head" seems so odd, but maybe it is to give it a feel of "modern art"? We'll have to visit the LINK to learn more. As with yours, many of our best museums are free of charge.
ReplyDeleteIt is and something that has been there for years! Thanks :-D
DeleteI guess it's telling you the horse has the right of way.
ReplyDeleteHaha yes Kirk good one :-D
Yes it is good to go there for free and learn things. Haha yes protecting him from the heat! I like that. Thanks Artur :-D
DeleteInteresting!
