I had mentioned this in a post in March. Here are the photos I took on the 11th March.
Info can be found HERE. At the time I took these photos they were still clearing things up and a lot of the streets were shut. I was talking to one of the policemen and he was telling me all they got was abuse from people trying to get along the shut streets. He said it was shocking the way people were behaving and they didn't understand it was for their safety. How rubbish is that? They are there helping and protecting people but still get abuse??? Changed days!

Some people will never learn
ReplyDeleteI know, sad really ain't it!
DeleteVivemos em tempos de pessoas totalmente polarizadas que nem sequer sabem o que significa empatia.

That's it. The world lacks empathy!
DeleteWhat's wrong with people these days??
ReplyDeleteI know, tell me about it!
DeleteUnfortunately, people are becoming increasingly irrational.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are. Noticed a big change since Covid!
Delete...many people don't want to be inconvenienced!
ReplyDeleteThat's very true as well!
DeleteRudeness continues to be everywhere these days.
ReplyDeleteIt does sadly Terry!
DeleteI am so sorry, Ananka!
ReplyDeleteLife isn't it, sadly.
DeleteWell you heard one side of the story. I have less than complete confidence in the police.
ReplyDeleteVery true David but in this instance I am inclined to believe the guy. Knowing what Scottish folk are like! Things have changed so much in the last few years here, it's not good :-(
DeleteWell, here we have similar situation, many roads and bridges are blocked because of maintenance and repair work need to be done and it's pretty inconvenient and annoying sometimes..it's nothing to do with the police and workers, but the authorities and politics.
ReplyDeleteThat's true Angie and it's not nice for the policemen to get abuse.
DeleteSome great old buildings in Glasgow.
ReplyDeleteOh so many Kirk, some great buildings :-D
DeletePeople seem to be losing the ability for critical thinking, as well as what we used to think of as common courtesy.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree Bill. Sad really!
DeleteI haven’t been down that end of town for a while, but I read that part of the street is now open. I’m glad it didn’t open till they felt it was safe!
ReplyDeleteThat's it exactly Anabel!
DeleteSo sad in many ways Ananka. I’m glad too. That policeman must have appreciated your conversation very much :)
ReplyDeleteI think he did. At least it wasn't too negative!
DeleteHay personas que van por el mundo sin empatía con una falta de educación tremenda y sin respetar nada. Las foso dan tristeza.
ReplyDeleteBuen fin de semana Ananka.
Un abrazo.
Thanks Laura you are so right. So many people lack empathy.
DeleteOne would expect people to behave politely towards the helpers. It's a shame that it's not the case.
ReplyDeleteExactly! They are only trying to help.
DeleteThese are wonderful photos. It's appalling the rudeness and inconsideration people now show without a thought. It is shameful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole. It really is.
DeleteThere are many great buildings to see in Glasgow.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
So many lovely buildings Jan :-D
DeleteI saw the news. That is honestly so disappointing to hear. Emergency workers and police are there to protect people, especially during dangerous situations like a fire, yet they still have to deal with abuse while doing their jobs.
ReplyDeletePeople often forget that road closures and restrictions are usually there for public safety, not to inconvenience anyone personally.
It really was bad Melody. I really hope they managed to not let it get to them after their shifts. Exactly it was done for a reason!
DeleteBeautiful buildings.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne :-D
DeleteI am sorry to know about fire there. It looks like beautiful old building. People are going mad or something...
ReplyDeleteThe world has gone mad!
