I had my appointment at the hospital today. I can now start to weight bear and walk on it. The doctor said 25% then build it up over the weeks. It isn't healing internally as fast as they'd like but he put that down to my age. Externally the wounds are doing well and I can have a proper shower or bath now. I don't need to wear the moonboot unless I am walking. I have to go back in a month and half and they will check my progress. The doctor referred me to the physio, so waiting for that appointment to come through. I also asked him when I can start driving again and he said I'll let you know at the next appointment! I have to keep moving it now and I have been moving it while sitting and doing a wee bit of walking in the house and let me tell you, it's really sore. Which is to expected, I was told! Here is a photo of my X-Ray, check out all that metal work!!

ReplyDeleteThat looks bad. I believe you immediately that it hurts. I hope your healing continues to progress and that movement gradually becomes less painful.

Delete...Ananka, unfortunately the older we get the slowly healing is. Take care and be well.
ReplyDeleteYup it's the sad reality! Thanks Tom :-D
DeleteDear Ananka, you must take care of yourself and get well soon. You should follow all your doctor's recommendations.
ReplyDeleteI will Irina. Thanks :-D
DeleteI hope your physio appointment comes through quickly ...
ReplyDeleteVery important to follow your Doctors advice of 25% then build it up over the weeks. Unfortunately it is true the older we get healing can take longer. Be patient (often easier said than done) you will get there.
Lots of positive thoughts coming to you.
All the best Jan
Me too Jan, still waiting! I keep telling myself that to be patient, it is hard though. Thanks :-D
DeleteUy me alegro que estés mejor. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThanks :-D
DeleteJust don't overdo it and be super careful, no falls or crazy bumps. I hope the healing goes well from here on in.
ReplyDeleteI will try not to. Yes that worries me having falls or bumps. Thanks Terry :-D

DeleteOh dear! I knew you had had a bad time of it but sharing your X-ray puts it into perspective. You have my every sympathy, always did have it ever since I heard about your fall, and still sending you loads of it as well as the hope that it will pick up on the healing process and that the pain will lessen each day. Onward and upward Ananka!
