Black Carrion Beetle in Scotland

This is a little Black Carrion Beetle or Black Snail Beetle (Phosphuga atrata). I made friends with it, as you can see! Lovely little thing.

  3. Hi Mrs Ananka. Thanks for your comments. I really appreciate it

Black carrion beetles in Scotland and Indonesia are similar scavengers that feed on dead animals. However, Indonesia has more species due to its tropical climate, and beetles may be larger and active year-round.

As far as I am concerned, In Scotland, they are fewer and mostly active during warmer months.
