I have been Blogging since 2011. I first started with 2 Blogs about nail polish, which I do from time to time. My main focus is on my more recent Blog which is about photography, mainly nature and wildlife. Welcome to my little world :-)
This is an old one from the archives 2021! Lots of Mallard ducks. That summer I went up most days to feed them and they grew to trust me and knew I would feed them! I was rewarded with good photos.
I find that Mallards in a public park swim towards any two-legged creature approaching them, knowing that the possibility of food is high. When I locate them along streams and rivers, or on lakes or ponds, they are more wary.
They are very affectionate and have a good memory. My husband and I always share our lunch with them when we visit Buna river. They know us by sight and always rush to meet us. Once we didn't have anything to give them, so one of them started chewing a stone to show how hungry she was. It was kind of hilarious because she was clearly putting an act. Bird are wonderful actors, and so intelligent and sweet. I don't think that people realize how intelligent many of bird species are. They are like cats, really. If they like you, they will be your best friend. If they don't feel the vibes, they will move away.
A beautiful family
