Linking to Tom's Signs: https://backroadstraveller.blogspot.com/
I saw this sign when I was last at the physio and I really liked it. Very apt!!
I had my hospital appointment today and got discharged. He was happy with my progress and was amazed at how well I am doing after 4.5 months and considering how serious the injury was. He was impressed I was walking unaided too! He said to continue with the physio for the next few months at least. He said whatever I am doing to keep doing it as I am doing so well and regaining movement in the ankle! He did say, though, it'll never be back to 100% but we are aiming for 70% or 80%. I said to him I am walking and driving and happy to be able to do this. So all in all a good report.

Que bom que você está se recuperando bem!

DeleteCongratulations on the great progress!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much :-D
DeleteI am glad you had a good report and making great progress.
ReplyDeleteI am too Jackie, thanks :-D
DeleteExcellent! I'm very happy to hear this good news. If we work our bodies and do what the PT says to do we can come back. I'm with you, I will take 80% as long as I can walk and drive. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYes that's it. I can walk and drive and back to almost normal so happy. Thanks Nicole :-D

Delete...Ananka, be well and follow the doc's instructions!!!
ReplyDeleteI will do Tom, gotta keep it moving :-D
DeleteI'm so happy for you that your doctor's appointment went so well! 70 or 80 % recovery is a good average. But honestly, I would still aim for 100%. Doctors don't know everything: When I suffered a complicated arm fracture many years ago, the surgeon thought I'd probably never be able to lift my arm properly again. Back then, physical therapy wasn't routinely prescribed, but I did gentle water aerobics on my own initiative, and when I came for my next check-up and showed the doctor that my arm was fully functional again, he said in amazement, "That's unbelievable!"
ReplyDeleteFor a while afterward, I had problems with shoulder dislocations in that arm (also a consequence of the accident), but I managed to get rid of those with exercises, too. Using your muscles and keeping your ligaments supple is definitely very important. I wish you a continued good recovery.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment on my blog.
All the best from Austria, Traude
Thanks Traude :-D I will aim for 100% and will try my best to get back to it. That's great about your arm. I think movement and keep using it is so important. I will keep using and walking and doing the exercises :-D
DeleteThat sounds great, that you can drive and walk again. The physiotherapy will certainly help even more.
ReplyDeleteYeah I am glad I am able to do these things :-D

DeleteI'm so sorry you had such a serious injury.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, I injured my foot, and the doctor said it would take up to two years to recover. In fact, it took me that long... but it's been almost completely healed for a long time now. And I wish the same for you. Of course, it's important to keep working on your recovery, and you're doing that.
All the best.
Hug
Thanks so much. These type of injuries take a long, long time to heal. I take each day at a time :-D

Thanks. I am so glad to be walking again :-D
DeleteThat is very true. Continuing with your physiotherapy for the next few months is the right call to ensure you maximize that range of motion in the ankle and build lasting stability. I am very pleased to hear you received such an encouraging report from your consultant. Keep going stronger, Ananka.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melody :-D
