About Me

My photo
I'm a simple Scottish girl with an unusual name and a strange obsession for nail polish! My aim is to capture what the eye sees, with a camera! Too much nail polish and never enough time. I have also started wildlife photography, which I enjoy very much. Welcome to my little world :-)

I Ended Up In Hospital!!!!

I ended up in Hospital on Saturday night during my shift at work :-O I have a pelvic organ prolapse...something I had no idea about until then! So I have a referral to the Gynaecologist or as I call them "Guy in a College" lol! I have to change my diet, lose more weight and do daily pelvic floor exercises. So that is why I ain't been about for a few days.  Anyone else have experience of this? Any advice??

As I am only in my early 40s, I am in a little bit of shock. I don't smoke, drink, eat fairly healthy, do lots of walking and would consider myself fairly healthy! I also drink buckets of water too. Thankfully I can still do my walking but have to change a lot in my life as I cannot do heavy lifting, bending, stretching or anything high impact!

I am doing okay physically, still in a lot of pain around my waist and back but I am following what I should do. Just mentally in shock. As my partner says, "It is, what it is!" Apparently about a third of women suffer from this.

  5. So sorry to hear about the mishap. 95% of this improves with a proper pelvic floor exercise. The important thing is to start it gently and slowly. Then gradually increasing the frequency. Avoid constipation and faecal loading by softening the stools rendering easy passage of bowels. Youtube has plenty of videos on the exercise routines.

  6. Oh, my dear, dear Ananka! I had never heard of such a disease before. You are so young! The worst thing is that you have no one to help you. How is your little daughter? Who can take care of the baby while you are in the hospital? I am sorry you are sick.

  12. Hello dear: I didn't know about it until you told me. You are unlucky because I think you shouldn't have it but it hopes it gets better with the kegel exercises. I do them sometimes too (when I remembe) because after giving birth I realize that it was more difficult to control my pee. xoxo

  15. I am so sorry to read this.

Pelvic organ prolapse is treatable, and this seems a good site to read for more information.

I note you have been referred to a Gynaecologist, that is good news.

Thinking of you and sending lots of good wishes.

    All the best Jan
