These are African Spurred Tortoises, we saw them at Blackpool Zoo back in February. The one on the left has won the race as the one on the right has fallen asleep!

ReplyDeleteActually when you encounter tortoises in the wild they move surprisingly fast. I remember seeing one scoot across a barren plain in Ethiopia.

ReplyDeleteThat made me smile, lovely photos of these lovely tortoises. I would like to see Blackpool again. I was five the last time and fell asleep and missed the illuminations :) I would head to the zoo next time.
