My post for signs today is:

I took this last Christmas in Edinburgh. We were out for date night and visited the Christmas Market and I saw this project while we were walking! I thought it was pretty cool

A Cool Crow

 

This is one of my many crow friends. I fed him most of 2022 at the pond. I just love his face in the first photo, what a real cutie :-D

An Interesting Tree

 

I liked the look of this tree and liked capturing the shadows of the trees behind me too.

A Cute Ladybird

 

How lovely is this little ladybird? She was kind enough to let me hold her too! Good looking creature.

Two Friends Hanging Out

 

When I first took this photo I didn't noticed the little slug on the left! They are good friends by the looks of things.

Millipede

 

This is a little millipede! He is a cutie!

This log looks like a snake sneaking out of the bushes!

Today's sign is:

 

I noticed this when I was out a walk with my friend. We were in the middle of the woods and someone had put this jacket hook up and the sign! I thought it was quite funny. People do some weird and crazy stuff.

Dinner Time

 

A busy little gathering. I put the seeds down and these birds appeared.

Following The Drops

 

This is a little beetle following the rain drops! I thought it was cute :-D

The Moon

 

It's the moon! I really like this sky. Sadly we don't often get blue skies in Scotland as it is always raining!!

A Tulip

 

This is a pretty tulip. I really like how vivid the colours are in the flower. I love how it looks inside, beautiful brushstrokes. A work of art :-D

The Snails Have Eyes

 

Just how mega cute are these little snails. I love how the eyes are on them. I am a big fan of snails and love to see the different patterns on each of them too.

I'd like to pay tribute to Bob Newhart who passed away yesterday at the grand old age of 94. He was a very, very funny man and I think his humour is timeless. I was first introduced to his Sir Walter Raleigh sketch in the mid 90s when I was a teenager and still find his stuff to this day. RIP Bob and thanks for all the laughs.

Insects On Dandelions

 

Dandelions are wonderful flowers. They help nature so much and they are pretty. Sadly a lot of people view these amazing flowers as weeds! Not me haha! As you can see, a whole bunch of different insects love them too. I drink dandelion tea and my daughter likes to eat them.

This was on a parcel I ordered at Christmas time. I thought it was such a good idea and made me smile :-)

Burnet Moth

 

This is a lovely Burnet Moth. It is black with little red spots. He was good enough to pose for me too.

A Little Fly

 

This is a little fly. I don't really get on so well with flies as they tend to enjoy eating me but my secret weapon is citronella oil, this keeps them away from me! It was so bad for me that I was everyone else's insect repellent, it was an ongoing joke when we used to go out walking with friends!!!

Dryad's Saddle

Something a wee bit different today. A cooking lesson....no seriously not haha! 

 

These are a mushroom called Dryad's Saddle and they are edible! I made a lovely veggie stir fry with them. I am no expert on mushrooms at all, but these are really easy to spot and identify. I am still learning about mushrooms and it really is an extensive topic! Mushrooms are wonderfully healthy and tasty and pretty amazing really. There has been a lot of research done on them and how they communicate and how clever they are! I wonder, sometimes, if I should stop eating them due to this.

Narrow - Bordered Bee Hawk Moth

 

This is a Bee Hawk Moth. Well named I think! Certainly looks like a bee. I had never seen such a thing before! I found him at the pond last year and quickly made friends with him.

My Friend The Rook

 

I made friends with this Rook. I gave him plenty of seeds to feast on. I really think he is a gorgeous creature. Corvids are just wonderful birds I think.

Signs

 

This plant is known as the Lipstick Plant. I thought this sign was pretty cool. I really don't know much about this plant but it does look nice.

A Cucumber Spider

 

This is a Cucumber Spider showing his underside. Took this photo last year.

Plume Moth

 

This is a Plume Moth. This photo was the first time I had ever seen this. I wasn't sure what it was at first so had to research it. I took this last July.

A Blue Damselfly

 

This a common blue Damselfly. I like the black and blue colours. I took this photo last year.

A Curious Robin

 

This little fellow looks curious I think, certainly in the second photo! I always like feeding the birds and getting good shots of them. These were taken last February!
