About Me

My photo
I'm a simple Scottish girl with an unusual name and a strange obsession for nail polish! My aim is to capture what the eye sees, with a camera! Too much nail polish and never enough time. I have also started wildlife photography, which I enjoy very much. Welcome to my little world :-)

The Snails Have Eyes

Just how mega cute are these little snails. I love how the eyes are on them. I am a big fan of snails and love to see the different patterns on each of them too.

I'd like to pay tribute to Bob Newhart who passed away yesterday at the grand old age of 94. He was a very, very funny man and I think his humour is timeless. I was first introduced to his Sir Walter Raleigh sketch in the mid 90s when I was a teenager and still find his stuff to this day. RIP Bob and thanks for all the laughs.

  6. It’s really interesting to get to know the details of their lifestyle and their role in the food chain. I hope you will do this, Ananka - but then again you are perhaps already very familiar with it. Maybe you have even eaten escargots.

    1. Oh no David, I am a veggie and don't eat them! I am always learning new things about them and other creatures. Everything in nature has a purpose and is important! Thanks :-D

    2. Have you always been vegetarian or have you come to it as a lifestyle choice later in life? We tend more and more towards vegetarianism, but I doubt that we will ever relinquish meat completely. We have cut out red meat, however. Yesterday, other than for shrimp with our stir fry we had a vegetarian day. We have Meatless Monday and there are always leftover for Tuesday, so those two days are invariably a hundred percent vegetarian.

    3. Since 2013, so 11 years now. I think it is good to eat less meat. My daughter is 5 years old and I am letting her decide. She still eats meat and I am trying to educate her where it comes from. I am dairy intolerant too, but doubt I could be fully vegan as I take honey and eggs. I don't miss meat at all and don't crave it!

  13. I walk in the rain, collect snails from the sidewalk and place them on the lawn so that no one will trample them. Beautiful photos, best regards!
