I'm a simple Scottish girl with an unusual name and a strange obsession for nail polish! My aim is to capture what the eye sees, with a camera! Too much nail polish and never enough time. I have also started wildlife photography, which I enjoy very much. Welcome to my little world :-)
Someone had spilled juice on a bench and this wasp appeared. It was hungy I think. I do like wasps a lot and love taking photos of them. They are interesting little things.
There are a lot of wasps in my yard now. The big bumblebees are also buzzing about. The wasps usually don't bother with me even if I get close because I have a lot of flowers, and they are more interested in the nectar than in stinging me.
..a hungry one stung me yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWhoops. I hope you are okay.
DeleteIt looks like a murder scene
ReplyDeleteHaha the colour of the juice!
DeleteWasps are understudied and under-appreciated. Thanks for paying attention to them, Ananka.
ReplyDeleteOh don't worry David, I pay attention to them. They are wonderful little creatures :-D

DeleteI like bees. Wasps, not so much. But this is a fine closeup of this striking beast.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it. I don't mind either :-D
DeleteI'm not keen on wasps, I know bees sometimes need a sugary drink to carry on flying etc. You're brave getting so close!
ReplyDeleteI have learned to like wasps and appreciate them over the years. Yes bees do need a sugar hit when they are flagging. Thanks :-D
DeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteThanks Irina :-D
DeleteYo suelo retirarme de ellas, por temor a sus picaduras.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
I have been stung once by one, but I don't blame the wasp!

ReplyDeleteWasps are gonna sting people on purpose, I think people react and that annoys the wasp. That sounds like a lovely garden you have :-D
