A Cute Bee

 

I took this photo on 30th April. I have noticed there are hardly any bees or butterflies going about this year. I don't know if the bad weather has had an impact on them but it is worrying. 

Cormorants

 

These are Cormorants. They are fairly common in Scotland. Though these photos were taken in England! I have had a few sighting of these birds at the pond and on the canal. They are nice looking birds.

I took this in Edinburgh somewhere. It caught my eye. I am hoping that we all can answer yes :-)

Deer

 

Such beautiful creatures! The first photo looks like he is sticking his tongue out at me!! Cheeky little fellow haha! And the second deer is looking right at me. I was on zoom but not that far from them. They didn't seem too bothered by me. These were both from last March, so I am guessing they are all grown up now. 

A Spider On A Spider

 

This is my Hallowe'en spider that I keep outside all the time and I noticed one day there was another spider on him! I find this kinda funny, a spider on a spider haha! Might just be my humour! Anyway the little spider looks kinda cool I think. From what I gather, it is a pregnant spider.

Green Leaf Weevil

 

This is a little Green Leaf Weevil. I think he is a cute little fellow! I took this in May. 

A Happy Crow

 

I think this crow looks happy. Probably because I put seeds down for him. I saw him most of winter when I was out walking. Crows are such wonderful birds and I really like them.

Pregnant Green Dock Beetle

 

This is a pregnant green dock beetle. Green dock beetles look really cool. They are iridescent!

Footprint In The Snow

 

I took this photo in January in my garden, when it had been snowing here in Scotland. There are 2 sets of footprints! I hope the bird got away! The little dish to the left is seeds I had put out for the birds. These prints aren't any of my cats as all my cats are indoor cats!! I just thought it was so cool!

I took this photo in March 2019!!!!! It was taken with my Huawei P20 Pro. I was looking at old photos and thought this would be ideal for Signs on Wednesday, so here it is! Very clear instructions haha. Sadly dog fouling is a big problem in Scotland. There is a culture, also, where people put the poop into bags then tie these bags to trees or fences!!

Nuthatch

 

A few Nuthatches up a tree! These birds are so cute! I took this photo in March last year.

Another Zoo Trip - 16 March 2024

 

Yet more photos from the zoo! As the summer holidays are coming this week, I think there will be more visits over the next few months!

I missed yesterday as I was so tired. I started working again, back to my old job on nightshift working Friday and Saturday nights! Gonna take me a while to get back into the swing of things!

A Little Spider

 

This is a little spider on my knuckles. I have 4 cats and cats being cats, they try to kill the spiders in the house. I always save them! I think spiders are so very important in our world and I really don't mind having them in my house! When I was moving him to safety, I decided to take a photo! In Scotland, we don't have any deadly spiders. I doubt I'd be holding spiders if I lived in a warmer country haha!

Froghopper

 

This is a common froghopper also known as a spittlebug. It is a little bug that looks a bit like a frog and it jumps like mad! It is a little cutie I think. 

Squirrels

 

I went for a walk on the 20th of May and there were squirrels everywhere! I had never seen so many in my life! These are 3 that I managed to capture! Such cute little fellows.

Where I live, the graffiti is normally very bad, boring and childish but I spied this and thought it was so cool and more interesting than the usual! 

No Fear!

 

This is me holding various creatures! The first photo is a snake, the little hand to the left is my daughter! She had no fear. The second are hissing cockroaches in my left hand and finally a frog! I have no fear at holding or touching these creatures!

Egyptian Goose

 

I took these photos in late April in Amsterdam. It is an Egyptian Goose with her young hiding. The little white dots on her are rain drops! It rained the whole time we were there!

Some Happy Rays

 

More photos from Sea Life in Loch Lomond taken at the end of March this year. A few happy looking Stingrays that look really cute! They were looking for food, but I thought they looked like they were smiling!

A Beautiful Crow

 

It is no secret that I love crows. I think they are wonderful birds and so intelligent! I take lots and lots of photos of them! This one is so very beautiful I think. I met him in April this year!

Jellyfish

 

These are 2 little jellyfish from Sea Life in Blackpool. They are white but there are 4 different coloured lights you can press to change their colour! As it was busy, I only managed to get photos of them sporting these 2 colours.

Going Back In Time - A Visit to Chessington in April 2023

 

We visit Chessington last April and these are a few photos from that visit. Chessington is both a zoo and theme park with lots of rides. It is near London, so a long drive from Central Scotland!

Orange Ladybird

 

These 2 photos are from May 2021!!! They are of an orange ladybird.

I'd like to say RIP to Dr Michael Mosley. I adored this man. He was a very intelligent man and an advocate of healthy eating, intermitting fasting and general wellbeing. He will be missed by many people.

These are 2 otters that live at the Sea Life in Loch Lomond here in Scotland.

This is a little Shield Bug, according to my research it is a Hawthorn Shield Bug!

Update

Hello everyone. I hope you are all well. I am doing good now.

For a few months after Christmas I really wasn't well. I had constant colds, chest infections and just really not well. In early March I decided to quit my 5 cups of coffee-a-day habit and cut coffee out completely. I did it cold turkey. The first week was rough, let me tell you! The second week things started to pick up. After 4 weeks I started drinking 1 black tea or 2 green teas. I noticed a big difference giving up coffee - sleeping better, stomach is better and generally feeling a lot better. Since I quit, I haven't been ill either! 3 months without any issues! Long may it continue! I also decided to quit caffeine completely last week. And have had a new lease of life. I am no longer a slave to caffeine! I feel free now! I also stopped drinking tap water round about the same time in March. I now drink still bottled water, plenty herbal teas that I blend myself and recently discovered the wonders of chicory - which is very much like coffee! 

One of my cats, Jethro, was diagnosed with Kidney Disease in early February, I really thought he was a goner because he was very ill. He started a special Renal diet and is doing okay as I type. He has lost a lot of weight but still acting normal. This caused me a lot of stress and was very down for a long time.

I haven't really been doing a lot of walking but trying to get out more. Sadly, due to this, I have piled on the weight. I am now trying to shift it and get fitter in general. I still have lots of photos to post and also started painting my nails again so will be posting on my nail polish blogs too! 

Edinburgh Zoo Trip 2 - 5th February 2023

These are from nearly a year ago! We have renewed our annual pass to the zoo but still not been this year! Planning to go soon and make use of the pass. In other news, I sadly had to leave my job so I am currently looking for another one.
